Milton® Safety Tip Lever Air Blow Gun

Milton® Safety Tip Lever Air Blow Gun

Part #: P_SAFETYBG

Blow guns are often used for cleaning, drying, or cooling workstations, equipment, tools, and other objects. Though all blow guns typically serve the same functionality, they can range in nozzle lengths, material, button or lever types, use liquids, or have safety features. Milton®'s safety air blow guns contain specific feature holes on the side of the nozzle itself or the air tips, which allows us to label them OSHA compliant.

Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has established regulations that govern the use of air blow guns. This is because most air blow guns on the market are dangerous due to the high static pressure when they are blocked. Should the operator accidentally block the orifice with any body part and the pressure exceeds 30 psi, there is a risk that the compressed air will penetrate the skin or enter the bloodstream. Air in the bloodstream, a.k.a. air embolism, can cause severe injuries, and some occurrences have resulted in fatalities.

OSHA guidelines: Outlet pressure cannot exceed 30 PSI when dead-ended

Safety guidelines using these products relate to outlet pressure. 30 PSI is enough pressure to break the skin and cause physical harm. The outlet pressure should not exceed 30 PSI if the air blow gun or nozzle is properly designed to be OSHA compliant. Some air blow guns require an airline pressure must be regulated to 30 PSI or less for rubber tip to be OSHA compliant
